When To Plan The First Kiss

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Dating and kissing go hand in hand.  Or at least we hope they will.  The fact of the matter is that kissing comes more naturally for some of us than it does for others.  There are too many people these days who take kissing lightly and will kiss each and every date that they go out with.  This can lead to confusion and affection that is coming too soon and too often.  Kisses shouldn’t be handed out like pretzels, they should mean something.  If you can remember that, you are going to have much more meaningful dating experiences.

One good general rule to follow when dating is to wait until the third date (or hangout).  You don’t necessarily have to go on three individual dates, but just three different times that you have either spent significant alone time together and had a chance to really get to know each other.  This is important, because if you start kissing too early then you both will quickly find out that the entire relationship is based off of physical desires and there may not be any type of emotional or personal commitment involved.  You want to steer clear of this because this usually only leads to problems later on.  Waiting until the third date shows your partner that you care more about them as a person than you do the physical interaction.

Another reason to wait until the third date is so that you can plan something special.  You don’t necessarily have to plan the exact time or way you are going to kiss her.  But plan a date that she won’t forget where you can kiss her somewhere more romantic than a couch cushion or a doorstep.  She will thank you for this kind of thoughtfulness later on down the road, especially if things start to click and really work out.

Gaining Dating Confidence Through Exercise

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Dating is really just a game of confidences.  Who in the relationship is more confident in themselves, and who has control over the relationship?  If there isn’t an equal balance of control in the relationship then it usually ends up in someone getting walked on and taken advantage of.  This is never a good thing, and should be avoided.  One of the best ways to keep a relationship healthy is to keep yourself healthy.  Exercising and getting in shape will release natural endorphins into your body that will help you to have more confidence and a more positive outlook in life.  You will improve your physical looks as well as the way you perceive yourself.  It may be the one thing you haven’t really tried when it comes to boosting your confidence.

Exercising doesn’t mean that you have to go out and run ten miles every day.  Don’t kill yourself trying to get into shape.  Exercise is more of a lifestyle than an activity.  Find something active that you enjoy doing and then make a habit of doing this or some other activity every single day.  You need confidence and self improvement on a daily basis, so set aside anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour every day where you can go and lose yourself in some sort of physical activity.  This will do wonders for every aspect of your life, including dating.   As you get into better shape you will not only have more self awareness but you will also be able to have confidence with people who were previously out of your league.  This is a great way to put your best foot forward and go out there and get what you really want and deserve.  All it takes is some simple discipline and motivation and it could change your life forever.

Dating Advice For Online Daters

Online Dating is the first step

If you have signed up for a local online dating site then chances are you have found a brand new world that has a lot of opportunities.  In this new virtual world of dating you can peruse through hundred of different profiles and find the people that seem interesting to you.  You can check pictures of your potential mates and see if they are cute before you even meet them.  This can save you a lot of frustration and also improve your chances of actually liking the person that you are going out with.

Once you have made the initial steps to find some people and make contact with them through either instant messaging or email, it is then time to take the relationship to the next level.  The only problem is that when you spend so much time communicating with people through online mediums you sometimes forget some of the traditional rules of successful dating.  One of those things is calling a girl to ask her out.  While it might be the easy route to just ask her out over email and then try and meet up with her somewhere it is a bit tacky.  The proper dating etiquette would be to ask her over email if she would be interested in getting a cup of coffee or go to lunch sometime.  If she says yes then ask her for her phone number so that you can go over the details.  Then you can call her, talk to her in person and explain what you would like to do. This initial conversation will also be a good test to see if you have any chemistry.  If the entire phone call is awkward then you can be prepared to make it a short date in case the rest of the date goes bad.  If there is a lot of chemistry you might plan out some other conclusions to your little date.

Using Themes To Simplify Date Planning

Themes, themes, themes!

One of the biggest stresses of a date is planning what to do.  People fret over trying to find some big event to take their dates to, whether it be a big concert or some kind of art show.  The fact of the matter is that you don’t have to take your date to some big concert or performance to impress her.   Sometimes the most simple dates are also the most fun.  If you are struggling with coming up with good date ideas then you might want to try looking into themed dates.

Now when I say themed dates, I don’t mean to be too cheesy or your date might think you are a ham.  But picking a simple overall theme for the date can help you to decide what to do every step of the way.  Here we will go over an example:

Train Date:  So you racked your brain for ideas of a theme and all you could could come up with is that you love trains.  Depending on your location, this may or may not be a good choice. If you do have a train station in town then you might go look at the museum that is in there.  You could then eat at a local restaurant that is either in the train station or nearby.  Once you are done with that you could go check out some of the old rundown train cars and take some cool pictures or do a little artwork.  From there you could go back to  your place and watch an old western that has hijacked trains or even watch the third installment of the “Back to the Future” series.  Something simple like this could be really fun and really unique.   Along the way you could make it a goal to get at least one train operator to honk at you.
