Picture this. You get invited by a bunch of friends to go to a concert in the big city. You live an hour or so away but decide that you really like the event and you end up going. You have a blast at the concert and afterwards you get introduced to some members of the opposite sex by a mutual friend. From the get go there is one of these people that sticks out to you. You are able to cut out the rest of the competition and have some quality conversation. After talking for a while, you realize there is some genuine interest there. You all decide to go get some ice cream afterwards with the entire group. While at the ice cream parlor you really begin to hit it off and you are both just laughing the entire time. In your head you have a million different things going through your head, not to mention the premature ringing of wedding bells.
At the very end of a magical night you get a phone number and ask when you can see this person again. They get a little awkward and then tell you they live an hour or two in the OPPOSITE direction. You don’t register the statement at first because you still have butterflies in your stomach from the first question you asked. The response finally sinks in and you don’t really know what to say. You tell them you’ll call and you leave to go back home. Long distance relationships aren’t the easiest things in the world to do but they can still be done. Here are few tips to consider when trying to date someone over a distance.
- First of all, make sure you have meaningful interaction inbetween visits. Try texting, calling, or doing voice chats over the computer
- Next, make sure that you take turns visiting each other so that one person doesn’t get burned out
- Last of all, make sure that you make all of your visits count. Plan out some fun activities where you can really get to know each other
