Online Dating Tips

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Dating is a crazy world—sometimes referred to as a sport, or a battlefield, depending on your past experience and level of success.  You have to go into it prepared for a number of things, and open to others.  If you are deciding whether or not to jump into the online dating pool, here are a few tips to consider so that you can find that perfect fish to show off to your friends.

The first of the online dating tips for the day:  Just remember that there are hundreds upon hundreds of people out there who are just like you—looking for someone that will “click” with their personalities, and bring a higher level of joy and satisfaction to their lives.  The thing about online dating, however, is that these people can be found anywhere from the apartment below you, to some place completely on the other side of the world.  When you begin your time in the virtual dating world, sift through some of the dating websites and chat rooms, and find something that looks promising.  There will be many options available, from young single ladies, to older, religious adults.  Almost anything you can think of can be found, if you look.

In joining a certain website, you will be virtually jumping into a specific pool of possibility.  Most often, the site will ask you to fill out a profile so that your name can be put on the menu.  Online dating tips number 2:  be honest.  Present yourself well by putting interesting facts, but avoiding the appearance of being “too desperate” or “too good to be true.”  Include things that make you look good, but that you can be honest about in the long run.  The people looking at you will want to find the person presented in your profile.

Ask your friends about other online dating tips that helped them—or just jump in, and see how the water is.  Online dating is a whole other world—one that is just begging to be discovered.

Using Themes To Simplify Date Planning

Themes, themes, themes!

One of the biggest stresses of a date is planning what to do.  People fret over trying to find some big event to take their dates to, whether it be a big concert or some kind of art show.  The fact of the matter is that you don’t have to take your date to some big concert or performance to impress her.   Sometimes the most simple dates are also the most fun.  If you are struggling with coming up with good date ideas then you might want to try looking into themed dates.

Now when I say themed dates, I don’t mean to be too cheesy or your date might think you are a ham.  But picking a simple overall theme for the date can help you to decide what to do every step of the way.  Here we will go over an example:

Train Date:  So you racked your brain for ideas of a theme and all you could could come up with is that you love trains.  Depending on your location, this may or may not be a good choice. If you do have a train station in town then you might go look at the museum that is in there.  You could then eat at a local restaurant that is either in the train station or nearby.  Once you are done with that you could go check out some of the old rundown train cars and take some cool pictures or do a little artwork.  From there you could go back to  your place and watch an old western that has hijacked trains or even watch the third installment of the “Back to the Future” series.  Something simple like this could be really fun and really unique.   Along the way you could make it a goal to get at least one train operator to honk at you.

Dinner Etiquette

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

When you go on dates, you will find that most of them have one thing in common: dinner.  You almost always go out to eat when you go out.  This happens for two reasons.  One, because you both are hungry and require food to survive.  And two, because it offers a great atmosphere where you can relax and talk to each other and really get to know one another.  This is usually one of the most crucial parts of the date because it really is the test of chemistry.  You find out if you can carry a conversation and how well you play off of each other.  When it comes to dinner dates however, you need to be aware of some dating etiquette so you don’t look like a fool.

The first thing you want to remember when carrying out dating etiquette is that you should always pull the chair out for the lady and make sure she sits down first.  This is just polite and it will show your date that you have a little class and have been groomed with some manners.  Next, make sure that the lady orders first.  You don’t have to be uppity about this, but make sure that she knows that she is the first priority in your life at that moment and that she can go before you.  Girls usually enjoy this and it shows a certain amount of respect for them.

Next, close your mouth when you eat.  You will be talking so listen while you are chewing and then when you are done chewing you can start talking and answer the question.  This way you won’t show her your nasty bolis of food while you chomp on it.   This is sure to turn her off and ensure that you don’t get a second date with her.
